Psychology Today redesign
When I first decided to redesign Psychology Today, I realized immediately that one of the problems I had with it was how "mainstream" it felt. I decided to approach the re-design from the ground up...and it started with the grid. I wanted to establish a more medical journal aesthetic in terms of the dimensions of the magazine and the type treatment. From there I decided that adding some energy to it could come in the form of beautiful photography and colorful infographics. Overall, elevating the sophistication and focusing on legibility were main objectives.
